I am seeing a lot of folks predicting the EB2 dates. And I believe they are right in doing so since that is their filign category. What I am asking is if there are any prediction regarding EB3-I. The dates are not moving at all which is absolutely frustating.
I don't think anybody can predict EB-3 India as it is a lost cause (sorry for being pessimistic). The only way EB-3 India will see any meaningful progress is through legislation.

I think you have hit the nail on the head. We are on a roller coaster ride and we need to cool our heels. The two amendments to help ease retrogression are already in two of the senator�s bills. Let's push that on through. We can later on use our imaginations to solve any �bigger" immigration issues.

* On July 6, 2007, the attorneys of Azulay, Horn & Seiden lawfirm filed this lawsuit individually in Illinois.
Ok here I go again in this Chicken and Egg situation......
Now that someone filed a lawsuit to invalidate the July VB, which BTW is still CURRENT.......it could invalidate the CURRENT sttatus....of all Eb categories....precisely what DOS USCIS wants....
My head is spinning.......Beer anyone?

Does PD exist just to be able to file I-485? Or as some members say, does it also play a role after filing I-485 for adjudication? Does CIS go by PD or RD when the visas are limited?
Let's say A has PD(Priority date) Dec 2004 and RD(Receipt Date) Jul 25 2007, and B has PD Mar 2007 and RD Jul 2 2007. Who would be adjudicated first?
If visa numbers are current for both of them, then its a matter of luck, whose application gets processed quickly and which guy's application reaches to the approval officer first. That time both have equal chance.
Ofcourse PD is considered for VISA numbers, not the RD. RD is good for portability issues like AC21/180 days rule. So B can switch jobs 23 days before A. Again that (180 days rule)also as per some lawyers isnt a hard n fast rule. Hope it helps.

Can all of us at least send a joint request/letter to Rep Lofgren to ask USCIS to formalise a procedure for re-capture of visa numbers?I guess USCIS can do this without any senate approvals.At least ,this will decrease retrogression a little.Any major reform looks unlikely anyways till year 2009...

Called them 3 times and everytime the same answer "pending and processing."
Unfortunately my uncle passed away yesteray and I have to travel for the funeral processings. Called USCIS just now and told them to expedite the case. CSR took all the information and told that someone will contact me within 5 business days about case. Hoepfully someone calls/emails and approves my case.
Just wanted to share my experience.

Which state are you in? Try other means of financing for the car. Sometimes the dealers themselves have options but might be a % or two higher.
There was a previous post regarding admisibility of EAD as one of the documents for DL. You might want to search for that post. I asume you dont have an H1b, right?
I am on H1 and I140 approved. Bank of american denied my car loan. Infact Honda Finance too denied my loan. Finally I had to go with Credit union who gave me very good APR for my excellent credit history. So there is a way out guys ..we just have to live with it untill we get our GC

The problem I see with Los Angeles is the high population of illegals. Any thing here looks like pro-illegal.
Doing the rally in other cities in Los Angeles County or Orange County is the media visibility that we can get.

My wife works in a company where a good number of IT folks are staffed by INFY. The poor quality of work made the company think about not extending INFY's contract. But then it came out in the open that there was no documentation on how the applications were built, etc. INFY got wind of this, and now they have positioned themselves in the organization where without them, this company's IT would collapse.
There are many such stories of outsourcing firms that are holding client companies hostage. Though I do not agree with the bill, I think the bill brings back some ethics into play. Especially the L1 loophole.
I squarely blame it on the company for not requiring INFY to document everything. There is such a thing as process or quality control. They have painted themselves into a corner. Having said that, companies will take advantage of this situation. Its just plain business...

I live in texas. I got my driver's license after my H-1B was valid for less than a month. So something is totally wrong with your DL department. Go and talk to a manager there.

it does say that H1B ext beyond 6 years can not be granted if there is not underlying pending process for GC (LC, 140 or 485).
However it does not talk about 'what happens if an ext is already granted'? so it still remains gray area. did I understand correctly?
